About the Facilitators:
Gabby Jonas, LCSW (she/her)
Gabby has spent several years working closely with LGBTQIA+ teens and young adults in both community programs and outpatient therapy. She has led support groups, facilitated youth workshops, and worked with families around identity, communication, and mental health. Gabby also has a background in IT, which sparked her interest in how digital spaces shape young people’s experiences today. She created this workshop because the topic feels increasingly needed, and because she is personally interested in helping families feel more informed and supported in their online conversations.
Melissa Nishman, LMHC (she/her)
Melissa’s clinical work is focused on working with families, couples and running groups. She uses an eclectic relational approach that is rooted in systems theory to support clients through growth and change. She believes strongly in the power of the therapeutic relationship to create a safe space for individuals, couples and families to explore patterns and the new possibilities that begin to emerge. Melissa believes that collaboration, creativity, reflection and curiosity are fundamental to the therapeutic process and self-empowerment. Melissa has post-graduate training in existential, object relations, family and couples therapy.
