Resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from adversities. In this group we will explore and deepen personal and community resilience in the context of LGBTQ identities. This 12-week Zoom group will use art, creativity and experiential exercises to build resilience, learn strategies and increase connection with others.

Most commercial insurances are accepted, and cover the group at the plan's behavioral health rate.

About the Facilitators:

Helen Staab, LICSW (she/her) 
Co-Facilitator, Middle & High School Group

Helen Staab (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Simmons College. Helen has been working at SAYFTEE since the fall of 2020, where she does individual, family, and group therapy with all ages. She facilitates SAYFTEE's Queer Resilience Group for adolescents and regularly runs workshops for parents and caregivers of adolescents living with depression and anxiety. 

Mica Sher, LCSW (they/them) 
Co-Facilitator, Middle School Group

Mica is a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) who supports individuals in their path to feeling affirmed and assured. With strong beliefs in self advocacy and self compassion, Mica encourages clients to give voice to their experiences. Drawing on practices that benefit a person's mind, body and spirit, Mica has guided clients in building tool boxes to handle daily and unexpected stressors.Mica uses client-centered care and wellness methods to help clients claim their agency, make meaning, and thrive.

Brittney Carrigan-Laquidara, LCSW (they/them)
Co-Facilitator, High School Group

Brittney is a master’s level clinician who has been working in the mental health field since 2018. Most recently they worked at a community mental health center providing individual and group therapy in addition to clinical case management. Brittney is grounded in the belief that clients are the experts on themselves and their needs. This belief frames their passion for meeting clients where they are, highly valuing one’s lived experience, and the commitment to accompanying clients on their healing journey.
