We'll review the most common gender affirming procedures, as well as psychological risks, complications, & aftercare considerations. This will include more nuanced discussion (e.g., when to defer to the surgical team, those with less social support, assessments for minors). Clinicians will reflect further on mindfulness of the history and ongoing experiences of medical gatekeeping and gender colonization. To attend, you must have a solid understanding of the Trans 101 basics, as this is an intermediate to advanced discussion.

This training is also NOT intended for clinicians that have not already had some basic Gender Affirming Surgery and/or Assessment training. If you are in need of this, consider the offering Providing Assessments for Gender Affirming Medical Care on 5/14/21 as a precursor to this more advanced discussion with Dr. Tucker.
