Internal Family Systems, Eating Disorders, and Body Liberation

A Zoom Training with Dr. Sand Chang, PhD.

In this 3 hour training, Dr. Sand Chang will provide information on how to apply Internal Family Systems (IFS) to working with eating disorders and supporting collective body liberation. The training will contain both didactic and experiential portions and will be divided into four main segments: 1) Diet culture in context, 2) Grounding in IFS framework, 3) IFS applications for eating disorders, 4) Case examples.

This training will not be recorded.

About the Presenter

Sand Chang, PhD (they/them/their) is a Chinese American genderfluid/nonbinary/femme psychologist and DEI consultant. Sand co-authored A Clinician's Guide to Gender Affirming Care (New Harbinger, 2018) and the APA Guidelines for Psychological Practice with Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Clients (2015). Sand's work is focused on body liberation with respect to trans health, disordered eating, and trauma. They utilize Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic Experiencing (SE) in their work with clients. Outside of work, Sand is a dancer, food top, punoff competitor, and small dog enthusiast.
